GRANT WRITER – LADLES OF LOVE NPO

Full Time – Cape Town office based

LOCAL AND FAST-GROWING NGO, LADLES OF LOVE is looking for a Grant Writer to join our team and lead our efforts in securing funding to help our organization operate throughout the year.

The candidate must be an experienced Grants and Sponsorship Proposal Writer, based in Cape Town and ready to start in a full-time-in office-based job as soon as possible. They should have reliable transport, a well-functioning laptop and smart phone and medically fit and well – with a passion for purposeful work.

The key deliverables will be prospecting and researching grant opportunities, writing compelling grant proposals and submitting applications to acquire funding, and working with our leadership team to ensure we have enough capital each year to fund the organisation.

Grant Writer responsibilities include:

  • Developing relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders
  • Displaying adherence to the organization’s mission
  • Maintaining proficient knowledge of the organization’s history and programs
  • Providing meticulous attention to detail in the submission of supporting documentation and statutory information.
  • Assist with the devising and execution of the fundraising strategy
  • Identify and prospect grant funding opportunities
  • Write, submit and manage grant proposals and applications
  • Furnish prospective funders with supporting documentation
  • Grow our donor base and secure and manage data in Salesforce with CRM team
  • Report into Head of Business Development
  • Work closely with the Founder and CEO to compile annual report and overviews.
  • Provide copy for newsletters and fundraising or sponsorship brochures

Grant Writer requirements and skills

  • Proven work experience as a Grant Writer or similar role
  • Proficient with measuring and reaching income goals
  • Great with MS Office Word, Excel and Google
  • Able to create and prepare professional PowerPoint /Canva proposals
  • Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources
  • Work well both individually and in a team
  • Exceptional organisational and data management skills
  • Target and outcome based driven
  • Outstanding communication and writing skills
  • Relevant education to support role
  • Have a thirst for continuously learning in the NPO fundraising space

This is a salaried position and remuneration to be discussed in interview.
